BIO

Mr. Turteltaub is a founding partner of The Turteltaub Law Firm.  His primary practice areas include redevelopment, eminent domain, zoning and land use, real estate transactions, commercial leasing, and other real estate related matters including access modification, title disputes and landlord/tenant disputes. He has represented both governing bodies and private property owners in these types of matters.  Mr. Turteltaub is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Land Use Section.
 
Prior to forming The Turteltaub Law Firm, Mr. Turteltaub was a partner with Carlin & Ward since 2002.  He also served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Lawrence L. Lasser, then the presiding judge of the New Jersey Tax Court.  Prior to a law career, Mr. Turteltaub was employed in the banking industry, where he developed financial services and consulted in mergers and acquisitions, asset liability management, and strategic planning.
 
Mr. Turteltaub has extensive experience with environmental issues related to eminent domain acquisitions including having successfully argued Housing Authority of New Brunswick v. Suydam Investors, LLC, 177 N.J. 2 (N.J. Supreme Court 2003). His extensive trial practice includes such recent and notable cases as Malanga v. Township of West Orange, et al., __ N.J.
__ (2023); The Housing Authority of the City of New Brunswick v Suydam Investors, LLC, 177 N.J. 2 (2003); Malanga v. Township of West Orange, et al. (App. Div. 2020); PMG New Jersey II, LLC v. 82 Iselin, L.L.C. et al. (App. Div. 2018); PMG New Jersey II, LLC v. 133 Colonia, L.L.C. et al. (App. Div. 2019); Wendell v. 22 Grove Assoc et al. (App. Div. 2016); Danny Realty LLC. v Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills Zoning Board of Adjustment (Law Div. 2022); The Rail Yard LLC v. Plaza Road Shopping Center, L.L.C. et al. (Law Div. 2020); Prospect St Neighbors at al. v. Glen Park Village, LLC et al. (Law Div. 2019); Zion Lutheran Church, et al. v City of Garfield at al. Topics have included redevelopment, treatment of environmental remediation, land use, development of highest and best use and matters related to eminent domain litigation and valuation litigation.
